San Antonio - Part I (Sea World)

We are spending a full day in Sea World, San Antonio today!

I would have been more excited if not for the fact that I realise we won't be able to take any of the fun rides. Not unless I want my girl flying out of the rides. Sigh...

Never mind, it's still a fun experience. The most important thing is that it's a free experience! Wahahaha! Military personnel gets to go in free and bring 4 other members of their family in free as well! Otherwise, the fare is almost US$50 per person!

So as soon as we're in, our focus was on the shows.

1st stop - The Viva Peformance.

This was a good show. It started with a comic performing with antics that splashes water on the crowd around. When the main show started, there were dolphins, beluga whales, high divers and synchronised divers! So many things to take in at once!

After this, we rush off for the next show which is the "Waggin' Tales". This is a western themed animal show. Most of the animals featured are rescued from pet shelters and they are really well-trained. There are pigs, dogs, cats, birds and even skunks! I think I saw a porcupine too.

Can you spot the dog playing the piano?
I think Megan enjoyed this show the most coz she got to go to the stage and pet all the animals after the show.
We took a break after the show and stroll around. It's really hot out there!
Lunch break! As usual, there's nothing for Megan to eat. She used to eat fries but even that has lost it's appeal. So its milk and biscuits and jell-o for the whole day.

After lunch, we head out for the next show again. "Believe" featuring Shamu, a killer whale! Megan was really impressed with the show. Weeks after the show, she'll still relate how the the jie jie stands on the whale whenever we show her a picture of a whale.

Introducing Shamu!

The highlight of the show was Shamu splashing water with his tail at the audience. He can splash up to 20 rows! That's why we were seated farrrrrrr farrrrrrrrr away!

She's sailing away on top of him.

Standing on his nose while he glides.

This was an impressive moment, she went underwater with Shamu and burst out of the water standing on the tips!

After the shows, we went in search of some rides for Megan. Unfortunately, she was not eligible for most of it. I even tried to sneak her into a mini roller coaster ride. But she was really so way below the line that it's too obvious. *sigh*
So we went for the boring ones, at least to me. Maybe she still finds it exciting. Hee hee.

Megan and Ah Ma relaxing under the shade while Dad stands under the hot sun, queuing for a ride.

Finally!

And up she goes!
After this, we took our rounds at the teacups.

The little terror refuse to let me hold the wheels, hoarding it entirely to herself.

After the teacups, we spotted this little playroom for babies actually. But it was so nice and cool and soft. So we brought the girl in so that we can hide there and rest in the shade. But she seems to enjoy it too.
Well, she's happily playing, we're happily hiding in the shade. I'll say that's a good deal.

But we must move on. There are lots of other things to see. We found a section with aquariums, like our Underwater World and saw these amazing frogs. We almost bypassed it coz I thought it's fake.

Oh, after the aquarium, we went to the stables to see the Clydesdale horses. My goodness! They are hugeeeeeee! I'm only about the same height as the legs. We didn't take any pictures as erm... by now, erm.... we're dead tired. The sun, the heat and all that walking. So we're basically dragging our feet around waiting for the bus to come and fetch us home liao.

It's been a tiring day but we got to see lots of interesting things and shows. Tomorrow's another day. Till then...
